Roomote runs your actual dev environment, verifies its work, reviews the code with a different model, and hands back PRs with live previews for you to approve.
All so you can ship faster with unlimited parallel tasks. Self-hosted or on our Cloud.
Mix and match providers and models, optimizing for intelligence, price or throughput according to your needs.
Connected to your repo, issues, logs, docs, DB. Roomote uses the same tools as you do to deliver quality.
Automatically handle inbound issues or have Roomote proactively find things to improve. No prompting, just review the results.
Roomote runs your actual app before calling work done, and gives reviewers a live URL to inspect.
It reviews its own changes, catches issues early, and cleans up fixes before a human has to step in.
Non-eng folks can build without setting up anything locally, because of trustworthy results and easy interfaces.
Since Roomote uses your messaging apps, it's naturally mobile-friendly. But we also have a great mobile wb UI.

"I would say Codex is really good if I hadn't seen Roomote. In fact I find Roomote a highly superior product to anything that I've tried so far; it's surprising me every day. It's like when I tried Roo Code for the first time... But better."
Zoran Perokovic
Founder, LogSharp
"I went through a very large migration over the last two weeks, and Roomote did all of it. I just give it a prompt and it goes. I just read the PR."
Mohammad Al Akkaoui
Partner, ModularCX
"The automations are working really well, the screenshots and everything sending into Slack are pretty awesome, and it's done really well finding bugs in really niche flows."
David Fletcher
Co-Founder and CTO, Currents
"I don't sweat being 'on-call' anymore, even if I'm in back-to-back meetings, or even on PTO. I'll just likely have to read some Roomote summaries and PRs. We're now including new hires and some interns on rotation, because we can."
John Stearns
CTO, Roo Vet
Roomote is yours whether you run it or we do. Single-tenant by design, source-available, and portable — you choose the model, the tools, and where it lives. Nothing about it is a black box.
Read it, run it, modify it, trust it.
Frontier, open-weight, huge, or local. Bring your own key.
Your own isolated deployment, Cloud or self-hosted.
Keep your code and conversations to you. Great for regulated industries.
You can stay local/manual, hand your workflow to a vendor, build your own agent, or run a self-hosted cloud agent you can own, inspect and modify.

Connect your issue trackers, docs, observability, analytics, and data warehouse and Roomote can investigate, answer, and ship changes with the same context you already rely on.
What is Roomote?
Roomote is a source-available, self-hosted AI coding teammate that can investigate code, answer repo questions, and open real PRs inside infrastructure you control. Everything stays visible to your team and ships through your normal review workflow.
It isn't a copilot or an IDE. It's a shared engineering teammate you can run, inspect, and adapt for your own team.
Who is it for?
Roomote is built for engineering teams that want autonomous coding while keeping their source, prompts, and workflow visible and under their control.
It's also a great fit for individual developers who want a cloud agent they own and can run cheaply, especially on open-weight models.
Engineers use it for answers, scoped fixes, migrations, investigations, and reviewable PRs. Leaders use it to make AI engineering adoption easier to trust.
Is this open source?
It's source-available under the Fair Core License, Version 1.0, ALv2 Future License . You can read it, self-host it, modify it, redistribute it, and use it for any permitted purpose, including internal use, education, research, and professional services.
The main limits are that you can't offer Roomote or substantially similar functionality as a competing commercial product or service, and you can't bypass license-key-protected functionality, namely going beyond 10 users in your deployment.
Every release also gets an irrevocable Apache 2.0 license on its second anniversary so anyone can use it into the future.
We could just build this ourselves, no?
You could. Seems easy, right? Maybe even exciting. But as we learned, going beyond 'harness in the cloud' to something that reliably works end-to-end, is easy to use and doesn't keep breaking is quite hard. Oh, and building and testing integrations is super fun, right?
That effort adds up, and distracts you from your actual mission.
What about first-party tools like Claude Tag?
Those are genuinely good, and if you don't mind being tied to a single vendor and subject to their pricing and availability whims, go for it.
Roomote is model-agnostic — bring Claude, bring GPT, bring an open-weight model — and it's self-hosted, so you own your destiny.
I already use Cursor/Copilot/Claude Code/something else with a C. Why would I need Roomote?
Those are great editor tools for writing code in an IDE. Roomote is a cloud agent that runs in your own infrastructure, works across the systems you already use, and returns reviewable outputs anyone can read. The two are complementary.
What harness do you use?
Currently we use OpenCode. It's reliable, powerful, fast and token-efficient (first-party harnesses seem very token hungry – who would have thunk?). We may change or add alternatives later, but it goes very far.
How does it fit into our existing dev workflow?
Roomote is built to drop into the workflow you already have. It plugs into your chat app, source control host, issue tracker, docs, observability, data stack and simply starts working. It uses your skills, follows your agent guidance, uses your PR templates (and you can even customize its tone of voice to blend in with your people).
What keeps it from breaking something? I've been burned by AI that ships junk.
Roomote works in isolated environments you control, uses the same repos and tools your team does, and pushes repository changes back through normal review paths instead of bypassing them.
Before it calls work done, it can run the actual app, self-review its changes, and attach proof like previews or screenshots when the task needs them.
You still keep control of what ships. The point is to make AI engineering inspectable, not lower your bar.
Can multiple people use it at the same time?
Yes. Different teammates can run unlimited tasks in parallel, and Roomote also supports live multi-user tasks when multiple people need to work through the same issue together (including in chat threads).
That means bug triage, repo questions, and fixes do not have to compete for one shared session.
Do you have a hosted version?
Yes — Roomote Cloud. It's the fastest way to try Roomote: a free 7-day trial, no credit card, and you're running in about two minutes. Every plan includes app hosting and a sandbox provider — you just bring an inference key from any provider we support.
Roomote Cloud is single-tenant, so your entire deployment is isolated. We never train on your code, and you can move to self-hosting anytime. Start free
Wait, does this mean I can finally close my laptop?
Yes, the day has come. Phew.
